The client BTU (Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus), partner in the EU research project COMET (www.cometproject.eu), developed components and methods for the utilization of industrial robots for milling processes. The mission was to communicate scientific results in an object, which should demonstrate the advantages and the accuracy of the robot and the progress made by the applied measures. The result is a gear ring with an engraving of the project name. The ring is a reference to mechanical engineering, automation and the aspired high precision and at the same time represent as a giveaway to the project partners a symbol of connectedness. Materials with increasing technical demands (Corian, aluminum, tool steel) document the progress of the project.
