The Hexagon Lounge is a modular room concept, which changes according to the requirements of its users. The individual elements follow different ergonomic approaches: Either they offer the possibility to be used by standing or sitting, to work relieved from acoustic and optical disturbance or to invite for dynamic sitting. A cluster of pendulum lights with smart bulbs, can be controlled via WLAN and smartphone to change color and intensity of the light. On the basis of an online questionnaire that covered the habits, needs and wishes of the students, the requirements of the furniture elements were defined. They produce a dynamic working environment that can be adapted by the users to their needs. So, the lounge offers a living space for a few students, a dynamic work environment for many people, or a special opportunity for public presentations without being disturbed by the public. Instead constructed and prescribed specifications, the Lounge offers unlimited possibilities and spaces of action for personal development and collaboration. The participation of the students in the creative design of their environment also encourages creativity and interaction at work and an active participation in their university.
