Smartphones and tablet computers have become so common that in Germany now the majority of the population are equipped with network-enabled mobile devices. That causes that the most valid target groups carry computing power, screen, camera and many sensors with it. At the same time microcontroller and computer got so small and low priced that completely new areas open up for there application and have a considerable potential for innovation for future products and business models. This may be the connection of physical products with the “virtual” world or the universal interface in the bag. But also “smart” products that operate independently, for example, linked to external services or cloud applications, save energy, maintenance or handling support or constitute the basis for leasing or sharing economy models. The list of the resulting possibilities is endless. Thingk design keeps up on state of the art technology. On request, we develope idea papers, that can be the basis for a joint development.
